The "Greater Picture" of Traveling

Why Does Traveling For the Sake of Photos Ruin the Whole Point of It?

Camera, Photos, Photograph, Paper Prints

With travel trends and affordable flights, a big cut of the population can manage to travel around places nowadays. This is of course, unforgettable experiences and almost all the time "priceless"

However, a lot of people seem to be missing the bigger "picture".

So let me get this straight, this post is actually not about discouraging taking "photos" when out on an adventure.

In fact, there is nothing wrong with taking photos, but have you ever encountered someone who told you this:

"Hey, let's go this place/country, it seems like a great place to take a photo/selfie"

So what ruins the whole point of it? Taking photos for the sake of posting on social media.

THE CULTURAL EXPERIENCE

This is something we always overlook. Often, we go to places for the sake of having something to post on social media. After all, it is a good decoration isn't it? And it gets us the attention and all the buzz on social media, right? (Pretty narcissists)

But we forget a big part of traveling: The cultural experience.

So why does the cultural experience matter so much?

Because culture is something you only get a full hands-on experience when you travel.

Culture may vary from one place to another, but it actually is what connects us human beings.
It exists as something that helps connect us with one another despite the differences. It is what makes us humans.

Culture serves as a root for most people. Understanding one's culture could eventually lead to understanding the beauty and diversity from each and every country.

Besides that, cultural experiences enhances our cultural intelligence.
Cultural Intelligence is valuable in a way that it helps you connect with people and can deeply enhance our careers through knowledge about different cultures thus, making you a person  who can easily fit-in in different settings.

THE SPIRITUAL EXPERIENCE

Stained Glass, Spiral, Circle, Pattern, Glass, Religion

A lot of people are already aware of the spiritual experience relating to travel. The whole travel experience doesn't only refresh our minds, but actually feeds and nourishes our souls.

So what is all the buzz with this spiritual experience?

After experiencing a different culture, you get to tell yourself this:

"I feel like there is something new about myself. I feel like I have a greater understanding of the world"

So before we jump into conclusions, the spiritual experience is not about religion

It simply is about that part where we unlock a better part of ourselves.

The spiritual experience is simply about us. About what we feel. About the difference in ourselves pre and post travel.

The whole big thing about spiritual experience is about how much better we feel after a travel. How much we get a feel more of our soul and we get what our inner self is craving for:

A deeper understanding of what connects the world.

So What is the Bigger Picture?

Old, Notebook, Map, Book, Holiday, Toys Hobbies, Photo

The bigger picture is actually this:

Make traveling not solely for something to post on social media. Travel to nourish yourselves. Travel to relax your mind. Travel to satisfy yourself. Travel to satisfy your soul. Travel to learn.

Experience culture, experience being in the area, trap your soul in the moment.

This would allow us to connect with each other through understanding each others root. After all, that is what makes traveling a PRICELESS EXPERIENCE

So go out. Take as much photos. Share it with people.

But most of all, nourish yourself, learn, and help the world connect.
